Through Louisiana.

We chose to by-pass New Orleans (because of hurricane Katrina) and stayed in this rather torn up place about 50 miles to the north. Enormous signs of terrible destruction were everywhere! *8-(

St Andrew's State Park, near Panama City, FL

Just when we thought things couldn't be more delightful, we stopped in St. Andrew's State Park. This place really took us away! With sailboats in the harbor lots of green plants, birds and alligators (NO No-see-ums -- small gnat-like fly things that can painlessly create bites that later itch then swell up and fester like Horse Flys ... for weeks.)

Ultralites buzzing us ...

One afternoon/evening, during one of our many walks on the beach, these two ultralites came floating along just a few feet above us. They gave us the "wave" w/their wings and then flew on down the beach and into a blazing sunset.

Exploring the Park

A day-hike through the "jungle" of St. Joseph's.

A Walk On The Beach

Sandpipers following the photographer...

Or photographer following the sandpipers?

The state park at the end of St. Joseph's Pennisula instantly became Marina's favorite place. The sand was SO white and the water SO blue -- but the native insects (No-see-ums) -- viciously attacked Terry the first night we were there ... you wouldn't want to see the bloody pics (if we had shot any)!

Driving to St Joseph's Peninsula State Park, FL

Slowly through the fog to ... we didn't know what.

Manatee Springs State Park, FL

On our way to Louisana (and points West), we stopped off at The Swanee River -- just gorgeous!

A city park in Tampa, FL

This was a foggy/rainy day-trip into Tampa. We had lunch w/the friendly birds under this beautiful old tree.

Alafia State Park, FL

After multiple attempts to get our new Mac to behave, we were "forced" to hold up outside Tampa, FL for a couple of weeks while it was sent to Texas and back.
